Surprise! Come on, by now you’ve already read the headline, so I guess my job here is done. No, don’t mind me. I’m just going to head on over here and kick this dead f–king horse that I see. In yet another blatant display of “maybe if the movie pops out at you, no one will notice that it sucks” Paramount and M. Night Shyamalan will convert The Last Airbender into 3D.
The studio will convert the M. Night Shyamalan-directed The Last Airbender into 3D, using Stereo D, the company that worked on James Cameron’s Avatar. Release date will remain July 2. [deadline.com]
I don’t really know what to make from all of this. On one hand, Sha
mWowyamalan at least portrays the persona of a director who gives a sh-t, regardless of whether or not his finished project reflects it. That said, it seems like he wouldn’t just attach a visual 3D gimmick without applying some real thought, but at the same time I can’t help but feel like they’re just trying to milk the extra money out of me for the 3D goggles. Reminds me of a gym membership consultant who is seriously trying to f-ck me over. I mean really? You want me to pay how much a month? Pfff, you guys don’t even offer any Kegel aerobics, WTF!?!
