It’s a Goodyear for a stand off. *bike horn*
Rubber will premiere at the Critics Week program at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. It’s written and directed by Quentin Depieux (who is also a music producer in France under the name Mr. Oizo). Here’s the synopsis of the movie, and I swear I’m not making this up: there is a tire named Robert (I know that guy!) who discovers a pile of burning tires and goes on a rampage to avenge them. Also, he has the ability to blow up people’s heads. Man, I wish I had a dollar for every time I saw that old storyline.
The teaser is below. Twitchfilm has some promo stills and one of their writers has seen Rubber, calling it “both absolutely hysterical and surprisingly well made”. Surprisingly? How could a movie about a homicidal superpowered tire named Robert not be well made?
