Let’s Liveblog Tonight’s Geeky TV: ‘Arrow’ Brings Ollie Back

Last week, on Arrow, we learned that Ollie’s near-death experience might have been carefully stage-managed, that Laurel is only mildly useful in a fight, and that Felicity will always do the right thing. Now all that’s left is Ollie to return to Starling City, and it appears he does so in grand style, which we’ll be liveblogging.

Mostly, what’s intriguing here is what the endgame might actually be. As you might remember, Ollie got stabbed and chucked off a cliff because Malcolm Merlyn played a long con; Ollie either had to throw his sister under the bus for the murder of Black Canary, or take the fall himself. Merlyn’s plan was clearly to use Ollie to cover his ass with Ra’s and the last episode made it abundantly clear that this plan has failed rather spectacularly. Instead, Ra’s has spies on Ollie and on Thea, which was revealed when the annoying DJ the show thankfully has only put onscreen a few times turns out to be a spy.

Which is either the greatest twist ever, or the worst, or both at the same time. There’s no way that weedy blonde guy is an assassin. Maybe he’s a freelancer they got off Craigslist? In addition, the show brings back Sin, who it promptly forgot about last season, and will, if the preview is any indication, be staging Starling City’s Annual Open-Air Street Brawl Invitational a bit early this year. Seriously, this marks, what, the third time in as many seasons there’s been a massive riot in the streets? Why do people even live in this city anymore?

Anyway, there’s not much else on tonight, so we’ll be liveblogging this starting at 8pm EST. Join us, won’t you?
