‘Arrow’ Is Done With Its Vigilante, According To Stephen Amell

The season finale of Arrow felt oddly like a series finale, for a number of reasons. And it appears that sense of finality is going to carry over into the show’s fourth season, according to Stephen Amell.

If you missed the last season, essentially all of Ollie’s Arrow toys are deep in cold storage; whatever wasn’t destroyed got impounded by the police. Speaking at The CW upfronts, E! got Amell to talk about what’s next, and, well, he’s not playing the Arrow or at least not wearing the suit. He brings it up at the 1:35 mark:

Which raises a few questions, not the least of which is… uh… so who’s getting in fights next season? Amell’s back for season four, and there’s no lack of masked vigilantes on the show. And he seems to be in the suit for the Legends of Tomorrow trailer. Screen Rant speculates this means Ollie is ditching his brooding and becoming the substantially more lighthearted Green Arrow. Or, as David Ramsey has admitted he’s been to a suit fitting, we could see a flip, where Diggle goes out and kicks butt while Ollie just runs around doing the same stuff he’s always done, without a mask.

Either way, we suspect Amell is far from done punching out ninjas. He just might be doing it in a nice suit.
