Yes, it’s that most glorious time of the year, when the superhero shows return, and we liveblog them. And this year will be no exception as we kick off the 2016 liveblog season with The Flash and the return of Agent Carter.
First up, on the CW, Barry finally decides to tell Patty his secret after, what, a solid half-year of telling everyone else? And, like all superhero girlfriends, this means she is dead. Hopefully she doesn’t get stuffed into a fridge, but we’re not putting down any cash on Patty making it out of the midseason premiere alive. And if she does, we predict her relationship with Barry won’t survive.
Meanwhile, on the Marvel side of things at ABC:
Yep, Peggy Carter is back, with the show taking a sun-drenched noir turn. Peggy’s always been a bit on the noir side, of course, but this has a Chandler reference right in the title. If you somehow missed the first season, then you should check out Alyssa Fikse’s indispensable first-season recap. Suffice to say, the period setting and the short episode order gives Agent Carter a punch reserved for cable shows. It’s a blast, and two hours’ worth of it debuts tonight.
