Channing Tatum is currently running around shirtless for Magic Mike XXL, but he’s also hard at work on another movie where one assumes he will be shirtless, his superhero passion project Gambit. If nothing else, he’s dedicated to the craft.
Tatum spoke to Digital Spy and revealed a few thing, the first of which being he’s working on the card tricks constantly, even if his magician trainer isn’t around. Thankfully, he’s shooting for the accent; he claims he hasn’t found the right Cajun to imitate yet for Gambit’s voice. That said, he dodges the question of whether Gambit will have his “classic” ’90s costume, probably because it looks like this:
Yes, the abs that make it look like his wang has a six-pack are a crucial part of the costume. Look, the ’90s were a different time, okay?
Also, it will be a standalone movie; while they’re still working out which, if any, X-Men are showing up, it’s going to be completely Gambit’s show. Fingers crossed he keeps the dadbod he’s aspiring to. Let’s see Gambit with a gut!
