Whether you want her back or not, Roseanne Barr is hoping for a primetime return.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barr and “Roseanne” producer Caryn Mandabach are shopping a family comedy around town.

The trade paper says that FOX has been pitched the comedy, which would feature Barr as the matriarch.

“Arrested Development” veteran Jim Vallely would write the pilot and will executive produce along with Barr, Mandabach and Maggie Rowe.

Barr was nominated for four Emmys for her acting on “Roseanne,” winning in 1993. She later picked up a Daytime Emmy nomination as host of the syndicated talk show “The Roseanne Show.” “The Real Roseanne Show,” a  swiftly cancelled 2003 ABC reality show, was less decorated.

Other semi-recent credits for Barr include a 2006 guest spot on “My Name Is Earl” and a vocal turn in “Home on the Range.”
