This Guy’s Month-Long Christmas Decorating Spree Might’ve Been A Bit Much

The holiday season is upon us, and that means everywhere you go is likely piping in carols and covered in twinkly lights. But when it comes to home decorating, most people are content with a tree and some stockings. Not Jack Baremans, from Etten-Leur, a commune in southern Netherlands. His Christmas displays rival what you would see in holiday boutiques. It’s the kind of decorating that makes people who protest the Starbucks winter cup squeal with unsuppressed, childlike glee, which is a good thing because it appears December is really hard for them.

The 43 year-old has reportedly been collecting Christmas decorations since he was a wee lad of 16 and he uses every one of them when December rolls around. This is why it takes him roughly a month to get all of them up (and you thought doing the lights outside was a pain in the ass).

Of course, the impressive decorating has made Baremans’ home a winter destination for his Dutch neighbors, but recent videos posted to YouTube have widened the audience considerably. From the comfort of your own home, you can watch the camera pan across multiple trees (check out the moving Santa tree toppers), nativities, snowmen galore, a working train set, a metric ton of polar bears, wreaths, enough reindeer to pull 57,000 sleds, and Santas (so many Santas). Plus, you get to listen to “Let it Snow” and “All I Want for Christmas.” And, if there is one thing Love, Actually taught us, it’s that no holiday is complete without some Mariah.

There’s no way that you can watch these without feeling like you slacked a little bit when you put up the decorations for your winter holiday. Do you have seat covers with giant moose heads on them? Well, do you? What are you doing with your life?

And, yes, this is just footage of his hallway and living room, but Belgian news website HLN reports the trimmings cover his entire home. You know he sleeps with like a thousand tiny Santas smiling down on him.
