The Rock’s ‘Baywatch’ Movie Just Cast A ‘Quantico’ Star As Its Villain

What do we know so far about the new Baywatch movie? Well, we know that The Rock is David Hasselhoff now, which is great on about three or four different levels. We know Zac Efron is in it. We know Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach are in it, too, with the latter taking over the role of C.J. Parker from Pamela Anderson. And we also know, via The Rockselhoff himself, that the film will be an R-rated extravaganza. What we didn’t know, until now, was who would be doing battle against The Rock and his team of red clad heroes as the film’s villain.

Enter Priyanka Chopra, who will play Victoria Leeds, described previously as an oil boss who wreaks havoc on the lifeguards’ beloved beach.

As he is wont to do, The Rock made the announcement on Instagram:

While audiences in the U.S. probably know Chopra best as Alex Parrish on ABC’s Quantico, international audiences probably know her best from, uh, everything.

The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. Aitraaz. Fashion. Krrish. Mary Kom. Agneepath. Kaminey. These are some of the top-grossing and most critically acclaimed Indian films in recent history, and what they all have in common is Chopra. She’s the Bollywood Marion Cotillard, or maybe Anna Kendrick, someone who’s both super famous and super respected, not to mention stunningly gorgeous. Chopra, 33, was named Miss World in 2000, and since then, she’s won a National Film Award for Best Actress, released a hit single (“Exotic,” featuring Pitbull), and was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Coming to theaters soon, The Rock and Zac Efron do battle with Miss World 2000 in an R-rated beach movie based on a wildly popular television series starring David Hasselhoff. What a truly incredible time to be alive.
