Joey Ramone’s Video For ‘New York City’ Is A Tribute To The City’s Vanishing Grittiness

I’m not sure how Joey Ramone pulls off putting out new albums and videos while being dead, but he has apparently done it. Hell, I can barely bring myself to look for my remote today and I’m alive!

Anyway, his posthumous album, “…ya know?”, came out earlier this year and now the video for “New York City” has arrived. It’s kind of a tribute to a New York that is rapidly vanishing — Joey Ramone’s New York, meanwhile, is long gone. Anthony Bourdain, Reggie Watts, and Andrew W.K. all make cameos, as do a host of locals. Miss you, CBGBs.
