A Thee Oh Sees Song Saved A Puppy’s Life — What Have You Done Today?

You know what’s cool? Music. You know what else is pretty awesome? Music. I’m just spitballing here, but what if you could buy music, good music at that, and save a dog’s life? Crazy talk, right? NOPE. San Francisco psych-pop kings Thee Oh Sees are just one of the dozens of bands that contributed to an album meant to save an adorable dachshund’s life. WHICH THEY DID. According to Pitchfork:

Earlier this year, the Burger Records crew rescued a sick kitty and released the Kitty Comp to pay her vet bills. Now, the label and over 70 bands are aiming to help an adorable dachshund named Popcorn (above), who needs surgery to remove a growth from her belly. (Via)

Spin updates, “The Wiener Dog Comp has saved Popcorn’s life, [but] you can still buy the two-tape set, which contains 71 previously unreleased songs by King Tuff, Redd Kross, Jaill, and many others.” All leftover proceeds will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, so, if you don’t contribute a little something something, you’re basically kicking a puppy in the face. IN THE FACE, guys.
