Throughout this past summer, the question of whether Drake and Serena Williams were dating captivated America (well, the part of America that reads gossip sites, anyway). We saw Drake rooting for her at the U.S. Open, and we wondered if we had found a new power couple to collectively admire. Then, of course, we subsequently blamed him for her losing because, well, that’s what we do.
Well, the dream of a Drake-Serena alliance uniting our nation once and for all may be on its way out. This weekend, Drake was seen at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood (Really? It’s called The Nice Guy? Is it owned by a bunch of bitter dudes on OkCupid?), and while he both entered and left alone, TMZ reports that he spent much of his time there with a new woman, who left shortly after he did.
So, are Drake and Serena over? Were they ever really a thing to begin with, or did America just get its collective hopes up in the first place? Well, I suppose when Drake’s next mixtape has a surprising amount of tennis metaphors, we’ll know for sure. Just remember, Drizzy, in tennis, “love” means “nothing.”
