Taylor Swift Is Going To Be On The Cover Of ‘GQ’ For The First Time

It’s a little strange that Taylor Swift took this long to bring the editors and photographers of GQ into her #Squad, but that doesn’t matter now because the magazine has finally taken its place alongside Mick Jagger, Lena Dunham, and the rest. Swift will be on the cover of GQ for the first time in November. The shoot went down in Malibu with photographer Michael Thompson.

Inside the magazine, Taylor Swift is going to sit down with Chuck Klosterman for an in-depth interview. Klosterman keys up the interview (which includes Kanye talk) by talking up Swift’s place in music.

“If you don’t take Swift seriously, you don’t take contemporary music seriously…There’s simply no antecedent for this kind of career: a cross-genre, youth-oriented, critically acclaimed colossus based entirely on the intuitive songwriting merits of a single female artist. It’s as if mid-period Garth Brooks was also early Liz Phair, minus the hat and the swearing. As a phenomenon, it’s absolutely new.”

OK, but did she have a better summer than Dave Grohl? For more of Taylor Swift’s almost monocultural dominance, check out this awesome, Taylor Swift-shaped corn maze. For some actual music by Swift, take a look at this cover of “Hot In Herre” with Nelly and Haim.
