The violence of the Paris Attacks has stirred a lot of emotions in the music community. We’ve seen several stars express their love, opinions, and pleas for peace. But in the case of Justin Bieber, the attack hits even closer to home, as he lost someone he knew personally.

Thomas Ayad, a Universal Music executive and good friend of Bieber’s was killed at the Eagles of Death Metal concert at Le Bataclan. In honor of his memory, Justin went to Facebook and wrote his thoughts on his departed friend and colleague:

Still thinking about Paris and my friend Thomas that we lost in the tragedy. He was a part of the team for years and I wish I would’ve had more time to thank him. Make sure to appreciate people while you have them. Thanks, Thomas, for everything you did for me. You are appreciated and missed. Thoughts and prayers are with his family & friends. ‪#‎PrayForParis‬

As Ayad worked for a big company like Universal, there were others who also expressed condolences like Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards, who posted this photo on Instagram.

He was sadly among the victims at Le Bataclan working the Eagles of Death Metal show along with another victim and the band’s merchandise manager, Nick Alexander.
