Afropunk Will Expand To Atlanta As ‘The Carnival Of Consciousness’

When you hear that Afropunk has expanded to Atlanta, your first thought is probably “Awesome!” The second one should be “What took so long?”

The Southern city that’s regularly been described as a “black mecca” of the U.S. is the next choice for an offshoot of the long-running music and culture fest. This is the first-run for “The Carnival Of Consciousness” — the official name of Afropunk Atlanta — as it was cancelled before they could attempt it last year. No matter, though. With a line-up like this, it’s hard to gripe.

The first Carnival will feature performances by Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, SZA and Uncharted stand-out Gallant. Check out the full lineup below via The Fader:
