Celine Dion’s Magnificent Performance Of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ Brought Down The House

Celine Dion’s magical performance of “My Heart Will Go On” at the Billboard Music Awards prompted a standing ovation from the crowd and a breathless reaction from co-hosts Ludacris and Vanessa Hudgens. Performing in a truly magnificent white dress with puffy sleeves — that invoked Bjork’s swan dress from the 2001 Grammys — Celine delivered her signature powerhouse vocals on her similarly iconic tune from the soundtrack of 1997’s Titanic soundtrack. Those sleeves were basically performers all their own, though.

Not only were the hosts nearly speechless and tearful over the beautiful performance, the entire audience was singing along during the performance itself, which began with Celine encased in a circular string of diamond strands that glinted and gleamed, giving an even more elegant air to her performance. While Hudgens did a great job of covering Dion earlier in the show, there’s nothing like the real thing baby, and this was a truly jaw-dropping display of talent.

Never forget that some songs are so iconic they transcend even the most impressive chart numbers, and while it may be one of the most famous songs in America, there’s an air of the timeless to Dion’s track that makes it bigger than any chart. Watch the performance above.
