Dej Loaf Spits Venom On Her Lush New Track ‘Snakes’

Dej Loaf has had a steady stream of heaters for almost two years now, and yet, hasn’t dropped her full length debut yet. Her Sell Sole debut mixtape, which featured her runaway hit “Try Me,” the EP …And See That’s the Thing, and her most recent mixtape All Jokes Aside all show the power that Dej can wield. Now the young Detroiter is back again with a new track and, according to her SoundCloud, “album coming soon.”

“Snakes,” produced by Yog$, is an anthem for those who gotta keep eyes in the back of their heads. “Snakes, they ain’t too far, they in your face/ The closest ones ain’t who they say/ Envy, jealousy, hate/ Gotta get ’em out the way before it’s too late.” As one of the most versatile and toughest rhymers, Dej clearly knows how to switch up her sound when she needs to. Last week, she just released a remix of Erykah Badu’s “Phone Down” and, a few days before that, she released the sultry track “Miami.”

And while we don’t have a date yet for a new full-length project from her, we can rest easy if she’s coming up with more fire like this.
