Kanye West Calls For An Apple-Tidal Merger In A Twitter Rant

Kanye West may have just confirmed the rumors of an Apple Music and Tidal merger. The rapper — who is perhaps most responsible for any success that the streaming service has — called for the two parties to come together and “let the kids have their music” a rant on Twitter.

After saying that the “Tidal Apple beef is f*cking up the music game”, Kanye asked for a powwow between all the streaming service heads and their highest-profile exclusive artists.

Surprisingly for someone who seems so intimately tied to the rapid-fire, outrage-based news cycle, Kanye is taking the long view on quibbles between the streaming services.

“F*ck all this dick swinging contest,” he wrote. “We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music.”

Finally, ‘Ye dropped a bomb and seemed to confirm the idea that Apple’s looking to snatch up its biggest competitor not named Spotify.

“Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop tying to act like you Steve,” he said.

The deal would give Apple the rights to a ton of exclusive artist catalogs, including Madonna, Prince, Jay Z and Beyonce. On Tidal’s end, it would allow Jay Z to offload the service that has been struggling to catch on since he purchased it in 2015.
