THIS GIRL HAS A SWEET FINISHING MOVE
DAVID BECKHAM KNOCKED UP POSH... AGAIN

THE TRAILBLAZERS USED TO BE RELEVANT

By / 11.14.06

I know that there are a lot of interesting stories going on in this young NBA season. Like, for example, the Knicks' brutal home crowd, and the Suns sucking, and the emergence of Andrew Bynum, and the new rule that doesn't allow players to have anything but a poker face after the referee whistles someone for a foul… but let's turn our eyes backward. Let's take a walk through history.

It was the early '90s. America had just elected as president a charming young upstart from Arkansas. MC Hammer confounded a nation by dropping the "MC," then he electrified that nation with the smash single "2 Legit 2 Quit" from the blockbuster film Addams Family 2. The Cold War was over, business was booming, and the military faced serious peacetime reductions after the Gulf War.

Meanwhile, in Portland, Oregon, it was time to bust a bucket…

Immense thanks to TrueHoop for finding this. Although I'm kinda sad nobody broke out the pogs once the silly string was exhausted.

UPDATE: Acutely aware pop culture guru Martin points out that it was "The Addams Groove," not "2 Legit 2 Quit." Impressive. Strangely, there are actually no Hammer songs on the Addams Family Values soundtrack. But there's P.M. Dawn!
