Browns QB Derek Anderson will be replacing Tom Brady in the Pro Bowl. He will be one of six Cleveland Browns making the trip to Hawaii, including Kellen Winslow, return guru Joshua Cribbs, T Joe Thomas, long snapper Ryan Pontbriand, and WR…wait, we're sending long snappers to the Pro Bowl now? Did we send a couple placekick holders, too? What about towelboys? Don't they deserve a little Aloha love?
Anyway, both Brady and WR Randy Moss pulled out of the Pro Bowl; no specific reasons were reported, but then "icing down each other's bruised pussy lips" doesn't really make for great news copy.
Anderson, who began the season as Charlie Frye's backup, threw for 3,787 yards and 29 touchdown passes while going 10-5 as a starter for Cleveland, which was edged out of a playoff spot because of a tiebreaker.
Randy Moss will be replaced by Chad Johnson, who will be joining teammate T.J. Houshmanzadeh; it will be Housh's first Pro Bowl. Goddammit, Chad Johnson, I really hate you right now. Way to back into the Pro Bowl. Shithead.
