It has been 18 years since Michael Jordan and Bill Murray teamed up with the Looney Tune Squad for the iconic animated film Space Jam, and not a day goes by that it isn’t celebrated on the Internet as one of the best films ever created (especially by our own Danger Guerrero). Sure, there are some sites out there that will pretend that Space Jam was a bad movie, or even worse, that it’s a “forgotten” film, but no child of the 90s needs a rehashed listicle to remember how awesome that Space Jam soundtrack was.
That said, in those 18 years, no one has parodied the ridiculousness of the idea of Space Jam’s concept – the greatest basketball player of all-time helps a cartoon rabbit and his friends defeat powerful aliens in a galactic game of hoops – quite like the folks at Yahoo!’s SketchY weekly comedy web series, as they produced a 30 For 30 mockumentary that is just plain, old awesome.
