Up and down, round and round we go. The roller coaster continues as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao hash out details for a potential fight on May 2. Over the weekend, Gareth Davies, a noted name in the boxing community, reported that Manny had signed a $250 million deal — but not so fast. Floyd squashed that rumor during Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.
“I haven’t signed yet. He hasn’t signed yet you know. It’s just been speculations and rumors. But hopefully we can make the fight happen.”
Have the i’s been dotted and t’s crossed? Probably not.
Have they agreed in principle? Probably.
Does Floyd want to control who/what delivers the breaking news? Absolutely.
And that’s likely going to be an issue for the next few days as we get closer and closer to an “official” announcement.
