Aaron Rodgers’ Response To A Fan’s Complaint About ‘Hard Counts’ Is Hilarious

Imagine the dumbest thing that you have ever seen. Now imagine something 10 times dumber and you get this letter sent in to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel from a reader who thinks Aaron Rodgers is ruining the game of football. No, he doesn’t think Rodgers is ruining football with the usual stuff we hear (his penchant for doing his discount double check celebration when he scores a touchdown, his involvement in various commercials, etc.). Instead, this person is mad because Rodgers uses hard counts to his advantage during games. Seriously.

The crux of Richard Klatt’s argument is that on, say, 3rd-and-5, Rodgers should try to earn a first down, not back his way into one by tricking a defensive player into jumping offside. Klatt believes that this sets a bad example for young athletes, which I believe technically makes this a “Play the Game the Right Way” argument.

Rodgers caught wind of this and decided to react on his Twitter account. Like all of us, he thinks this is a really dumb complaint, and like most of us, he noticed that the author of this letter spelled his last name wrong.

Remember this exact letter to the editor, because sometime this season, the Packers are going to seal a hard-fought win after an opponent jumps offside due to a hard count. Rodgers will then mention this letter in one of his postgame interviews and it will be delightful.
