Terrell Owens is like that 14-year-old orphan with the juvy record and the generally unpleasant disposition: nobody wants him. And why would they? He’s 35 years old, he only caught 55 balls last season, and oh by the way, he has been a divisive force in every NFL locker room he has ever entered. So, of course the Bengals want him.
President Mike Brown spoke at a training camp media luncheon Monday. He told reporters, “We have an interest in (Owens). We’ve talked with him off and on during the offseason. “I think if he chose to come here he would be a player that would fit in and help us. But that’s his call and it hasn’t been made yet,” Brown added, indicating that an offer may already be on the table. WLWT [Cincinnati]
Owens reportedly is also drawing interest from the St. Louis Rams, which would be a better fit for Owens, because they already suck and aren’t expected to do much this year anyway. The Bengals already have an overrated wideout, but at least Chad Ochocinco doesn’t drop balls in the endzone like Owens, whose petulant, back-stabbing chickens are coming home to roost. I don’t really know what this has to do with chickens, but the expression seems appropriate.
