Meet This Gang Of Five Guys Who Have Attended Every Single Super Bowl Together

Five friends who go by the not-at-all pretentious “Super Bowl Five” have seen every Super Bowl since the inaugural event in 1967 and will be in attendance again in San Francisco on Sunday for the game between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.

Prez, Prof, Chicago Lew, Larry Mac and The Fog (do you even care what their real names are?) sat down for an interview with Today to talk about some of their favorite memories, some of which include Scott Norwood’s wide-right field goal miss in Super Bowl XXV and the New York Giants beating the undefeated New England Patriots in 2008.

Four of these guys are from New York and loved seeing the Patriots lose, so you know they are actually OK dudes.

“To me, that was the best of all to beat the Patriots,” Sylvan Schefler said.

They have a “no wives” rule on these trips and all recall fondly the time in 2004 when Janet Jackson’s nipple popped out because, while they are older men, they are still men.

“Lew said to me, ‘Prez, look at this!’ ” Schragis said. “I said, ‘What?’ I almost missed it. But I saw it.”

It’s a tradition that has overcome financial hardships — one friend needed to borrow from the other four one year — and the death of a father one week before a game another year. The goal is to do this for another 10 years and hopefully they find themselves at an after-party with Rob Gronkowski because I bet these guys can still get after it.
