Syracuse Football Coach Offers Alum’s 1-Month-Old Son A Scholarship

Sports broadcaster and Syracuse alumnus Adam Schein and his wife Katie welcomed a new child named Theo into the world last month. After a month of scouting, Syracuse football coach Scott Shafer decided that he wanted to lock down young Theo, so he offered the newborn a scholarship to join the Orange in the fall of 2032.

Of course, there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered regarding young Theo, namely whether or not he’ll ever play football (as a bit of a safeguard, this scholarship is contingent on Theo meeting all of the NCAA/university’s academic requirements and growing up to be at least 6-foot-1 and 200 lbs.), but this is still a really nice gesture by Shafer. Normally when college football coaches offer children a scholarship before the ninth grade it’s kind of weird, but we’ll let this one pass.
