The Milwaukee Brewers Are Planning A ‘Major League’ Night With A Bob Uecker Bobblehead Giveaway

The return of baseball season allows us to shine a light on the better parts of the game, namely the goofy ass theme nights that teams roll out to get people out to the ballpark. Since we can’t have legendary promotions like 10-cent beer night any more, we’re left enjoying other ways to spice up the average night at the ballgame.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced their slew of theme nights for this summer, featuring a few familiar sights like Star Wars night and Country night, but also featuring a few special events. One is Zubazpalooza, a night to honor the most comfortable ugly pants in history, and another to pay tribute to Bob Uecker and his role from Major League. From MLB:

The one and only Harry Doyle (aka Bob Uecker) is immortalized in bobblehead form, Tuesday, July 21 as the Brewers host the Cleveland Indians during Major League™ Night at Miller Park. Fans who purchase this special Major League Night ticket package will receive a limited-edition talking Harry Doyle bobblehead with famous quotes including: “This guy threw at his own kid in a father-son game”, “Personally, I think we got hosed on that call” and “Juuust a bit outside.”

You had me a zubaz, but I’m genuinely sold for a Major League theme night. It’s a comedy sports movie, which is a rare creature these days, but it’s also top notch at the same time. It’s not complete garbage juice with a sh*t glaze the way something like The Longest Yard remake might be, part of the reason being Bob Uecker.

I’m looking forward to this and my Uecker bobblehead, but I’m also excited because it gives me another chance to share my favorite Bob Uecker clip via the great Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange:
