Corgi Friday Is Purebred, Dammit

Over the last two weeks, Internet aggregators and blogs like The Daily What, Reddit, BuzzFeed, Geekosystem, boing boing, and That Cute Site have all featured corgi mixes, which readers have very kindly and relentlessly tweeted and emailed to me. And despite the undeniable cuteness of this corgi/husky mix, I have to respectfully request that you PLEASE STOP SENDING CORGI HYBRIDS TO ME. I have seen the corgi mixes. They’re interesting, I suppose. But they’re not corgis; they’re mutts. And while I think mutts are the best dogs in the world — my Rottie mix is the light of my life — I’m running a high-end niche business here, and I don’t have time for charity cases.

Anyway, this week’s Corgi Friday is dedicated to Buckley, the corgi who was attacked by one of Jesse James’s pit bulls in Austin. Get well soon, little Buck. Our little corgi nubs wag for you.

In this week’s cutest biology story, ducklings Biggie and Pac think that this corgi is their mother. AWWWWWWWWW. More pictures and the full story at Gamma Squad.

This three-minute video probably would have been better if it had just been two or three still pictures. But that didn’t stop me from watching the entire thing.

(Thanks to the lovely Shara of Oh Have You Seen This)

I’ve watched this so many times now. “ZZZ–WHA? HUH? I’M AWAKE!”

Reader Kevin sent in this photo of his pup, Belle. Well, not just this photo. He sent the same ZIP file of photos to me three times in two days. Kinda creepy, Kev. But your dog sure is cute.

Oh man. I can’t even.

This is Rosie. She likes waterfalls.

If this puppy were within arm’s reach of me, I would squeeze the life from him in the most loving way possible.
