Elisha Cuthbert In A Pile Of Puppies Is Why ‘Happy Endings’ Should Be Renewed

By 04.27.13

Remember a few weeks ago, when we said “no one watched Happy Endings because everything sucks, nothing’s fair, down with CBS, etc. etc. etc.? Well, those numbers were splendid compared to last night’s ratings.

Two back-to-back episodes [of Happy Endings] at 8 p.m. averaged only 2 million viewers and a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating in the hour (with one episode only getting a 0.5). That’s down 25 percent from the comedy’s last original airing a couple weeks ago (Boston bomber pursuit coverage preempted last week). The performance tied Fox’s Touch as the night’s lowest-rated show on a major broadcast network. (Via)

Probably not the Bauer reunion 24 fans were hoping for. It’s looking more and more likely that unless TBS or USA swoops in, next week will be the too-soon series finale of Happy Endings. That’s a damn shame for about 32,424 reasons — it’s one of the funniest shows on TV, great cast chemistry, we need Sinbrad’s back story, “The competition is stiff. They disqualified that guy, but the rest of the competition is pretty good” — but mostly because no more Happy Endings means no more ALEX KERKOVICH PUPPY PARTIES.

Surprised ABC never went with, “Watch this show, or these puppies get it” as a marketing strategy.
