Weekend Preview: ‘The President Is Busting My Lady Balls’

Happy Endings (ABC, Friday 8PM ET) — The Friday thing is such a kick in the d*ck. Friday night is the one night that should be completely devoid of television for anyone between the ages of 15 and 80, but then there’s the guilt thing when you read episode titles like “She Got Game Night” and start feeling terrible for how lonely you know those Happy Endings airings are going to be. USA or TBS or whoever can’t step up fast enough. I’d be lying if I said I hated seeing two new episodes on my DVR Saturday mornings though.

The Masters (CBS, Saturday 3 -7PM ET & Sunday 2-7PM ET) – I watch pretty much every single second of coverage and will never apologize for it. Not all sporting events are created equal.

Doctor Who (BBC America, Saturday 8PM ET) — If you’re into that sort of thing.

Saturday Night Live (NBC, 11:30PM ET) — Vince Vaughn hosts with pregnancy catalyst Miguel as the musical guest. I’m sure most of you, like me, have conflicted feelings on Vaughn. He’s the Hollywood equivalent of the lazy talented guy in your life you end up resenting and incapable of making eye contact with. But hey, maybe he’ll try this weekend. And maybe so will the writers. Glass full people.

Game of Thrones (HBO, Sunday 9PM ET) — I usually don’t read episode descriptions. I sometimes make an exception with GOT though just so I don’t find myself disappointed when certain characters see zero airtime. Let me just say “Tyrion is given new responsibilities to which he is entirely unsuited” has me intrigued.

Mad Men (AMC, Sunday 10PM ET) — Man am I glad we’re back to one hour episodes. That was exhausting. From last week’s next on scenes the little bit I’ve seen this one provides some nice work juxtaposition of Don and Peggy.

VEEP Season 2 Premiere (HBO, Sunday 10PM ET) – As you MAY have noticed, we’re seriously ramping up our VEEP coverage this season as it couldn’t be more in our wheelhouse. Expect LOTS of awesomeness to fill the Archer void next week. If you haven’t caught up yet, crank up the HBO GO and bang out S1 in an evening you gold-plated sh*t gibbons.
