Directly after revealing his cameo in The Hobbit to David Letterman last night, Stephen Colbert used his recent trip to Rome as a jumping off point to hop into character and sound off on why he doesn’t care for the new Pope. You know, since the man is essentially discounting his Catholicism. Credit should be given to the out-of-towners grabbed out of Time Square in the audience for being in on the joke from the onset. I was skeptical. “I offered him a chance to meet me.”
Francis needs to get in on this and turn it WWE-style ASAP. Talk about improving as seemingly un-improvable approval rating.
