Now U2 Is Also Whoring Itself Out For ‘The Walking Dead’

Last month, after Apple spent an ungodly amount to put U2’s new album in everyone’s iTunes account for free, it felt like we’d all gotten the worst present ever. It was like reaching into a Christmas stocking and pulling out an orange, and then finding that there was nothing else beneath the orange, and then wanting to throw the orange in the trash can, except that iTunes wouldn’t let us throw the damn orange in the trash, so we were stuck with it until we figured out how to get rid of the damn thing.

And now, for some reason, AMC has decided they’d like to promote U2, as well, by using tracks from that lousy free U2 album to promote the upcoming fifth season of The Walking Dead. You know, because nothing say apocalyptic zombie sh*tshow like the latest track from gazillionaires who haven’t said anything worthwhile since Rattle and Hum. Then again, it’s fitting because when the world goes up in smoke, all that will be left will be cockroaches and that damn free U2 album.

On the other hand, the music video itself is kind of pretty, if you’re into gorgeously rendered cinematography of Norman Reedus and the rest of the cast of Walking Dead.
