The Two Latest Pilot Orders By NBC Involve Shows About Snipers And Naked Women

NBC has picked up two new drama pilots about two things America loves — snipers and naked women. The first pilot order is for a show called Blindspot, and yes — it’s the one about the nude lady. From Deadline:

Written by L.A. Complex creator Martin Gero, Blindspot kicks off with a beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, who is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI who begin to follow the road map on her body to reveal a larger conspiracy of crime while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.

The synopsis sounds reminiscent of Memento. Here, the plot involving FBI agents “following” a road map of tattoos on the gal’s body sounds a bit questionable. Then again, NBC is the home of Hannibal, so I’ll hold out hope for this one.

Meanwhile, the other pilot is from the co-creator of Leverage and the producers of The Blacklist. A drama about a sniper, the series is ominously titled Endgame. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

Endgame, from Sony Pictures Television where Davis Entertainment is under an overall deal, centers on a former sniper — how timely. While working as a security expert for the wealthy, he is wrongly accused of the slaying of his wife. A syndicate of powerful people offer him freedom in exchange for stopping high-stakes crimes as he looks to avenge his wife’s death and uncover the conspiracy among his mysterious employers.

Given the success of American Sniper, NBC’s decision to pick up Endgame is a no-brainer. With Netflix‘s recent move to acquire The Blacklist for $2 million, it’s very possible this new project could bring the network gold. If only we could combine the two into a show about a naked, tattooed female sniper…
