Why Did ‘SNL’ Cut This Hilariously Bizarre ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Sketch?

Another SNL episode, another superior sketch left out of the show, and this sketch — “New Playroom” — might have topped our weekly rankings for best sketch. It’s another Fifty Shades of Grey sketch with Dakota Johnson, and for the life of me, I don’t understand why they chose the other one with Kyle Mooney playing a young kid interviewing Johnson about her movie.

Here, Kyle Mooney plays Christian Grey, and as he’s showing Johnson’s Anastasia Steele around his new playroom, only it’s under construction. That means that Anastasia gets to awkwardly meet all the construction workers cutting the “weiner holes” and “spank boards” for her butt pleasure (my favorite bit: Jay Pharoah’s construction worker is using a “shame blanket” as a napkin).

It’s honestly hilarious, and in a episode where they did a sketch mocking ISIS, I have no idea why they’d avoid a sketch about butt drills.
