Things are getting kinky for David Letterman during his final days on the Late Show over at CBS. First Howard Stern tried (and failed) to kiss him, then Julia Roberts gave him one final goodbye kiss — a longstanding tradition during her visits to the show. So how could notorious prankster George Clooney up the ante on Thursday night’s show? Handcuffs.
The late night talk show host tried to start a conversation about Clooney’s recent marriage to Amal Alamuddin, but the actor wasn’t having any of it. After asking Letterman what he was doing — referring to his impending retirement from the Late Show — Clooney handcuffed himself to his host’s wrist. He then threw what appeared to be the only key out into the audience.
Letterman asked Clooney if the handcuffs were “something leftover from the bachelor days,” but the two quickly realized they were stuck to one another for the remainder of the interview.
