Check Out This First Look At Arseface And Cassidy In AMC’s ‘Preacher’ Adaptation

Back in May, Seth Rogen tweeted a dark interior pic of one of the scenes from his AMC adaptation of Garth Ennis’ revered Preacher comic-book series. The series follows a fallen preacher who gets imbued with the word of God power, which results in him gaining the ability to make people do whatever he wants. While flanked by his girlfriend Tulip, and his vampire buddy Cassidy, Reverend Jesse Custer goes on a mission to find God, who has vacated his post in heaven.

There’s a wonderfully diverse cast of characters in Preacher, and perhaps none as memorable and disgusting as Arseface, a young man who is disfigured when he fails to kill himself with a shotgun blast. The result is a hideously transformed face that resembles, well, a butthole. Fans of the series have wondered what exactly that will translate to on the small screen when Preacher debuts in 2016, and now we have our first clear look at Ian Colletti as Arseface courtesy of Facebook.

Not to be outdone, though, here’s an on-set pic of Joseph Gilgun as the hard-drinking vampire, Cassidy.

Really, 2016 can’t come soon enough. Preacher was in development hell for years before Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg rescued it. It’s easily one of the most depraved pieces of fiction ever, and also one of the most brilliant. Here’s hoping that Rogen, Goldberg and AMC get it right.
