As viewers of Mr. Robot will tell you (after insisting that you must watch the show), its lead, Rami Malek, is amazing in his role as tech specialist Elliot Alderson. Said amazingness was also on display in his role on the HBO miniseries The Pacific. It certainly caught the attention of Emmy Rossum, who suggested Malek for a role to her fiancé, Mr. Robot creator and executive producer Sam Esmail. This is yet another example of Rossum having much better instincts than the character she portrays on Shameless.
