What Happened To That Wobbling Airplane On ‘Fear The Walking Dead’?

A few weeks ago on Fear the Walking Dead, as the military took over the neighborhood where Travis and Madison live and we heard an announcement that flights were being grounded, we spotted a plane flying over Los Angeles. The camera lingered on the commercial flight for a few seconds as it wobbled and then left the frame. Some wondered what happened to the plane and why the series would focus on it if it had nothing to do with the narrative.

We may now know the answer. As reported last week, AMC is launching a companion web series to Fear the Walking Dead. The 16-part series will air in one-minute increments, which began last night and will continue throughout the 15-episode run of The Walking Dead.

The series takes place on an airplane, right after an announcement that commercial airlines have been grounded. It appears as though this is the plane that we spotted in the previous episode.

Here’s the first installment.

Spoiler Alert: I don’t think it’s going to end happily. Even if the plane somehow lands safely and the passengers escape, Los Angeles will be a wasteland in only a matter of days.
