‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ Gets A Very Patriotic (And Bloody) Poster For Season 2

Ashley “Ash” J. Williams, as played by veteran actor and charming human being Bruce Campbell, is an American hero. Yes, he’s really good at killing Deadites on Ash vs. Evil Dead (though not as good at preventing their release), but that’s not the only reason Ash bleeds red, white and blue. As demonstrated in June, his real world counterpart has no patience for partisan internet trolls misusing the show’s imagery as political propaganda, which a few pro-Trump Twitter accounts tried to do.

Whether Campbell, Ash or Ash vs. Evil Dead is for or against Trump, Clinton, or a third party candidate is a moot point to make. What isn’t, however, is Ash’s endless patriotism. Hence why Starz decided to release a new poster for the second season featuring the titular character, Ruby (Lucy Lawless), Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), Pablo (Ray Santiago), and a horny toad giving salute while “Old Glory” flies in the background. What’s more, Ash is saluting with his chainsaw prosthetic, which makes complete sense as his right hand has been missing and presumed evil.

Ash vs. Evil Dead season two premieres Sunday, October 2 on Starz. And with all the America the series seems to be demonstrating, let’s hope the teased “Glory, Gory, Hallelujah!” version of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” makes its way into the show.
