Aubrey Plaza Opens Up About That Time She Met Donald Trump

The always stellar late night talk show guest Aubrey Plaza appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Tuesday night, where she was asked about a photo she tweeted back in October last year captioned “WHEN I FIRST MET DONALD TRUMP.” The only thing is, you can’t exactly see Plaza in the photo:

If you thought your college-aged job was crappy, Plaza recalled to Colbert how she used to dress up as the British cartoon character “Noddy the Elf” to entertain people at conventions and events when she was around 19 or 20. (If you’re thinking Plaza seems unfit for this role, uh, at least the children couldn’t see her face or hear her voice?)

On one such occasion, Plaza’s services were required to entertain guests at an event at the iconic (and now closed) FAO Schwarz in New York City, where she was asked by her boss to get a picture with one very special guest, none other than Donald Trump. It will probably come as a huge surprise that Donald Trump did not want to have his picture taken with Noddy the Elf (immigrant), but tenacious Plaza eventually got her way, and as such, history was made.

If only, she says, she knew what she knew now, that she would have “just, you know, tackled him to the ground in that moment, and said ‘DON’T DO IT.’ ” Oh well. If it didn’t work for Scott Bakula, we don’t know how much luck Aubrey Plaza would have had.
