‘The Defenders’ Will Have To Hold ‘Jessica Jones’ And ‘Daredevil’ Fans Over Until 2018

While Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has been dominating movie theaters and leaving fans wanting more, the shows that they’ve been releasing via Netflix have received the same amount of praise and hype, with Daredevil and Jessica Jones both receiving critical and fan acclaim. Both shows have also worked towards creating their own, Netflix-sized universe, with the upcoming The Defenders looking to include characters from both Daredevil and Jessica Jones, as well as this year’s upcoming Luke Cage spinning off from Jessica Jones.

When will Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher get their own, respective next seasons, though? That question has loomed for fans for a while now, with Daredevil‘s second season introducing Frank Castle and promising more of The Punisher and Jessica Jones fans itching for a second season. According to ScreenCrush, the wait will be just a while longer, as 2017’s release schedule includes The Defenders and Iron Fist. The second season of Jessica Jones will be filmed following The Defenders first season, but won’t air until 2018, the same for the stand alone series of The Punisher and the third season of Daredevil.

Fans of both Daredevil and Jessica Jones should be getting their fill of both characters in The Defenders, which is promising, but as for The Punisher, it isn’t entirely clear what kind of role he’ll have in The Defenders just yet.
