Peter Capaldi Wanted Tom Hanks To Come On ‘Doctor Who’ But He Might Settle For David Bowie

See that there? That is what I would imagine to be the face of frustration being expressed by Tom Hanks because Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi recently asked him if he wanted to be on the show and apparently, he’s “very busy at the moment.” Too busy being awesome? Probably. But also, Tom Hanks is always up to something.

Capaldi appeared on the U.K. show Good Morning Britain recently and said that he’s just worked with Hanks on something and asked if he’d be up for some cheeky sci-fi adventures in the TARDIS:

“I was working with Tom Hanks last night, and the producer was onto me asking me to get him involved. …

“I did have a word with him, but he’s very busy at the moment.”

I mean, if the guy can’t even make time for a random high school’s homecoming, he definitely can’t find time for Doctor Who. Carly Rae Jepsen? Definitely. But going across the pond is different.

We really, really wish he could make the time for something like this, especially since there were so many times Hanks has turned down things that would have been pretty amazing.

However, Capaldi added:

“I think it would be good to have some rock stars … like David Bowie.”

Stop it. It’s way too perfect. Who better to talk down Major Tom than the Doctor?
