Michael Cera And John Hawkes In A Charlie Kaufman Comedy Pilot For FX? Yes Please.

That’s just a murderer’s row of weird. The good weird though. And today in FX’s further efforts at the TCAs to blow your mind with awesome collaborations there’s this announcement about Charlie Kaufman’s latest comedy project:

Michael Cera and John Hawkes have been signed to star in the FX comedy pilot “How and Why” from Charlie Kaufman.

“Why” revolves around a brilliant man who understands nuclear physics but is clueless about how life works. Kaufman will write and direct the FX Prods. half-hour pilot, set to begin lensing in the spring in North Carolina.

Michael Cera’s divisiveness is well documented but outside of George Michael Bluth I cannot think of a better spot for him than in Charlie Kaufman’s world opposite John Hawkes. In other TCA news, it doesn’t sound like Fargo is not going to be terrible. Calm down, FX. You’re already giving me DVR anxiety.
