AMC Just Put The First Four Minutes Of The ‘Preacher’ TV Series Premiere On YouTube

The premiere episode of the hotly anticipated new series, Preacher won’t bless your soul with the good lord’s (i.e. care of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg) words and signs until Sunday, May 22 at 10 p.m. ET on AMC. Yet if you happen to be so sinful as to be physically unable to wait another second, the cable network has graciously uploaded the first four minutes of the premiere onto YouTube for your devilish enjoyment.

However, let it be known that what follows does contain some mild spoilers for the show. This is especially true for anyone who’s read the original comics by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and therefore has a pretty good idea as to what Preacher is all about. So if you want to wait for what Dustin Rowles calls “television’s next great weekly cultural event,” then scroll down no further. If you really don’t care, then go on ahead and click the play button below because holy goddamn does this series look good.

You will see things in these four minutes. Things like a screaming, flying entity that sails through the cosmos past planets known and otherwise towards Earth, where it finds a preacher in Africa. An entity that, for anyone familiar with the comics, is what’s referred to as “Genesis.”

In turn, you’ll also see an allusion to what may or may not have pissed off Tom Cruise and his representatives.
