Someone Paid $1,000 To Eat Ham From Padma Lakshmi’s Body, Is A Fun Sentence To Write

Last night was DC Central Kitchen’s annual Capital Food Fight, in which celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain, Andrew Zimmern, Jose Andrés, Padma Lakshmi, and Carla Hall got together, made some food, raised money for charity, and had ham eaten off their collarbones. GUH? According to the Washington City Paper:

Lakshmi auctioned off the chance to eat a piece of Iberico ham [Ed. note: HAM] from her collarbone for $1,000. The rest of the judges also went a little H.A.M. “This is what I want the inside of my coffin to smell like when I die,” Zimmern said. Bourdain one-upped him: “I would slit my best friend’s throat with a rusty butter knife for this ham.” So… maybe $1,000 is a bargain? (Via)

I’ve got four bottle caps and an Avoid the Noid pog in my pocket — do you think Padma will let me lick honey mustard off her cheeks for that? No, you’re right, probably not. But Zimmern will do it for two bottle caps.

YOU’VE MADE A POWERFUL ENEMY, photographer, and by powerful, I mean I have no power and am barely a man.
