Stephen Colbert Really Doesn’t Think Joe Biden Will Show Up At CNN’s Democratic Debate

While the majority of the 2016 presidential coverage has been focused on the Republican candidates, Tuesday night will be the Democrats’ time to get some shine. CNN will be airing the first Democratic presidential debate between the 2016 candidates, with hopes of more record-breaking ratings and personal attacks than that last debate. Twitter might even be more lively.

One strange possibility CNN is prepared for is the scenario that Joe Biden suddenly declares his run for president and is ready to debate that night. There’s going to be an extra podium set for the Vice President and everything. Understanding just how unlikely that is, Stephen Colbert decided to list off some other potential last minute candidates. Could Paul Ryan switch parties just to avoid taking Speaker of the House? Might Jesse Ventura stop by to turn the debate around? What about a reverse Trump with an evil goatee? Colbert also goes over the possibility of Biden finding his way back to The Late Show for a grand entrance, skipping CNN entirely. Truth be told, every one of those things seems more possible than Biden showing up on live television ready and raring to go.
