The kids from Stranger Things have been showing up all over the place lately as the show continues to rocket in popularity, beating out other hugely successful Netflix Originals like Daredevil and Making a Murderer. No one expected them to pop up at the Emmys, but they did. And I’d venture to guess no one expects them to appear on a fashion runway, but they just might.
Over the weekend, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo popped up on the Instagram account of Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere, who teased that there was an “exciting project coming up thanks to all of you guys.” Are we the guys? Because we made Stranger Things so popular by putting in the hard work and binge watching it? Or are the Stranger Things kids the ‘guys’ because they’re willing to become fashion models for horrifically overpriced clothing and accessories?
It’s not clear what’s what, but the Stranger Things kids getting a modeling contract would prove the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. On the show, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will looked and acted like goofy proto-nerds — very different from the almost creepily perfect kids you see on the Disney channel these days. Now these awkward ducklings are on the verge of making a fashion deal with Louis Vuitton. Good for them!
