The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

May is the ever-important sweeps for networks, and they can’t afford to air anything but the best episodes of their most popular programs. That’s why ABC is pulling “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” from its schedule:

The broadcaster has pulled Jamie Oliver’s low-rated anti-junk food reality show from the rest of its schedule this month. The most recent episode delivered about 5 million viewers and a 1.5 adult demo rating on Tuesday night. ABC will burn off the remaining episodes on Fridays at 9 p.m. starting June 3. [EW]

As someone who hates fat children, I applaud Oliver’s cause. But did it really need to be a TV show? Can’t he be a school-lunch-overhauling do-gooder without cameras following him around? Just give me the results, pal. I want you to make those kids skinny, not lecture me about vegetables. If I wanted boring TV about depressing situations, I’d watch the news.
