Tom Hiddleston Apparently Spent Time As A Real Night Manager To Prepare For ‘The Night Manager’

Actor Tom Hiddleston bore his way into the hearts and minds of moviegoers worldwide in the role as the mischievous Loki in the Thor and Avengers films, but there is so much more to the actor from London. In fact, Tom Hiddleston’s roles span radio, television, theater, film and even video games, but dramatic roles seem to be a passion of his. His role as the titular character in the upcoming AMC miniseries The Night Manager Hiddleston pushed him to dive right into his work to prepare.

What better way to prepare for a role as a night manager at a hotel than to actually spend time as a night manager? To prepare for his role as a soldier-turned-hotelier the dashingly handsome Tom Hiddleston spent time shadowing a manager at an upscale hotel, he explained to Variety. The Night Manager will have a limited, six episode run with the premise being Hiddleston’s character involved in a plot to take down an international arms dealer played by Hugh Laurie. Laurie also did some hands on research for his role, but due to the dangerous nature of his character he wasn’t able to talk about who he spent time with to prepare, which perhaps makes it sound even more incredible.

The series already ran in the UK on BBC throughout February and March and will debut on American shores on April 19th, running for six weeks. The Night Manager has racked up some serious accolades throughout its original run in the UK, which has a lot of people excited about its arrival in the United States. The series is based on a novel by the same name from 1993 written by John Le Carre.
