Weekend Preview: Don Has A Big Idea On ‘Mad Men’ And Tyrion Goes For A Walk On ‘Game Of Thrones’

Mad Men
(AMC, Sunday 9:00 p.m.) — Peggy has trouble casting a commercial and Don has, according to the synopsis, “a big idea.” That is purposely vage, but it makes you wonder if this is the last big idea that we get to see Don have. Which, in turn, means it might be the last sweeping and romantic speech about a product and the way that it brings us back home. That little shine in his eyes that says that he’s doing what he’s meant to do — might be last call for that euphoria cocktail. Sooner or later, we’re going to have to realize that we’re not going to be able to delight in simply watching Don Draper work.

Grimm (NBC, Friday 8:00 p.m.) — Nick and Hank investigate a homicide that… how many people are going to get murdered in this area before someone calls the federal authorities or NCIS or whatever?! Tell Dawson we need an email trace or some sh*t, people are dying by the bushel in those woods!

Dateline: Bruce Jenner Interview (NBC, Friday 9:00 p.m.) — It’s about to get a little too Diane Sawyer in here.

Stand-Up Specials (Epix/SHO, Friday 10:00-11:59 p.m.) — A little Jim Norton with his Epix special at 10:00 p.m. and then some Andrew Dice Clay at 11:00 p.m. on Showtime. Laugh your face off on the way to the weekend, or type “I’m very offended right now” onto Twitter and hover your finger over the “send” button. You have the gift of freedom, my babies.

Orphan Black (BBC America, Saturday 9:00 p.m.) — Castor wants original tissue samples and a new villain enters into the equation.

FOX Sunday Comedies (FOX, Sunday 7:30-10:00 p.m.) — Gene starts a band on Bob’s Burgers; Bart V. Lisa origin story on The Simpsons; Jake gets hurt while on a case, and Holt and Rosa take their other halves on a double date on Brooklyn Nine-Nine; the guys roast Peter and Conway Twitty is probably there on Family Guy; and political treachery is afoot as Phil’s claim to the presidency is challenged (by YET ANOTHER PERSON… probably) on The Last Man on Earth.

Game of Thrones (HBO, Sunday 9:00 p.m.) — Queen Margaery digs her claws into the boy King and Tyrion and Varys go for a walk across a long bridge. Which will, I assume, look something like this…

But with a beard now.

Silicon Valley (HBO, Sunday 10:00 p.m.) — Gavin’s offer is still hanging in the air, but a new billionaire is batting his eyes at Pied Piper.

Veep (HBO, Sunday 10:30 p.m.) — Selina’s administration tries to find a scapegoat for a data breach and Catherine tries to find a cause.
